WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Next weekend thousands of women and men will lace up their shoes and walk close to 40 miles to beat breast cancer. It's the 2-Day Avon Walk.

Breast cancer survivor Gerie Voss and Operations manager Kara Eldridge talked to us on Thursday morning about the walk, how many people are expected, and why its decribed as a life-changing journey.

They also talk about preparing for the walk and raising money for the cause.
