FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA9) -- Fairfax City Police say a convicted felon was charged after he was found with a stun gun during a traffic stop on Tuesday.

According to police, 22-year-old Dashawn Hammonds of Washington, D.C. was pulled over a Main Street and Whitacre Road at 10:17 a.m.Tuesday.An officer determined that Hammonds had an electronic stun gun and a records check revealed Hammonds was convicted of a felony in D.C., say police.

Police say Hammonds was transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with possession of a stun weapon by a convicted felon and ordered held without bond.
