New York, NY (Sports Network) - The National Hockey League announced on Tuesday that the Senators-Bruins game which was postponed due to the Boston Marathon bombings has been rescheduled.
The contest, which would have taken place on Monday night at TD Garden, will now be played on Sunday, April 28.
"On behalf of my entire family, our prayers and deepest sympathies are with those who were injured, lost their lives, their families and the entire City of Boston," said team owner Jeremy Jacobs in a statement. "I have no doubt that the amazing people in Boston will continue to display great strength and resiliency and we will be there to offer our support in any way that we can in the wake of this tragedy."
The NHL's regular season was set to conclude on Saturday, April 27 once the new matrix for a lockout-shortened schedule was approved.
Both clubs were originally slated to finish their regular season the day before the rescheduled contest. Ottawa was to host the Flyers, while Boston had its season finale in Washington.
