MILLERSVILLE, Md. (WUSA 9) -- Skylar Marion, one of two pedestrians injured in a hit and run car accident Friday night in Pasadena, Maryland, died Monday from injuries sustained during the crash, reportedAnne Arundel County Police.
Marion was a 15-year-old, ninth grader at Chesapeake High School in Anne Arundel County. Friday night, police believe he was walking on the shoulder adjacent to the westbound lane of Mountain Road when he and a female juvenile were struck by a 1997-2002 Ford Expedition. Officers arrived on the scene at Mountain Road, near Alvin Drive. A third female juvenile, a 13-year-old from Glen Burnie, Maryland, was also at the scene, she wasuninjured.
On Friday, Marion was transported to the Shock Trauma Unit at the University of Maryland Hospital and the injured female, a 13-year-old from Clearwater Beach, Maryland, was taken to the Johns Hopkins Children Center. Anne Arundel County Police say she has since been treated and released.
Anne Arundel County schools released a statement Monday saying that counselors were available to offer support to students and staff at Chesapeake High School. Counselors will also be at the school on Tuesday.
At this time, police say they do not have any information about the vehicle or the suspect, other than that the Expedition suffered damage to the passenger side headlight, turn light assembly, the hood and passenger side front quarter panel.
