ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA) -- Congressman Jim Moran visited a Virginia elementary school to recognize World Autism Day on Tuesday.

Rep. Moran met with Barcroft Elementary School students who were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), reading to first grade students. The congressman's office noted in a press release on Tuesday, "The innovate training that Barcroft Elementary provides for all staff members allows students with ASD to be successful in general education settings."

Moran also talked to school administrators and staff about his plan to re-introduce the AUTISM Educators Act, which would create a pilot program to train general education teachers who work with students with ASD.
