WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County Police say a man ignored officers' orders to return to his home and bit an officer during his arrest on Saturday morning.

According to police, 24-year-old Thomas Gene Boman of Woodbridge was intoxicated and irate with a woman outside a building in the 3000 block of Frankfurt Court at approximately 12:48 a.m. Police say that officers asked him to go to his home and he allegedly ignored them and "became increasingly disorderly."

When police tried to arrest Boman, he reportedly resisted and bit an officer on his hand. That officer had to be treated for his injury, say police.

Police say Boman was detained and charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and intoxicated in public.

Police say he is being held without bond and has a court date set for May 13.
