Valparaiso, IN (Sports Network) - Miles Dixon came off the bench to pace four teammates in double figures with 14 points as the third-seeded Wright State Raiders held off the sixth-seeded Youngstown State Penguins, 66-59, in second- round action of the Horizon League Tournament at the Athletics-Recreation Center.
A.J. Pacher and Jerran Young scored 13 points apiece for Wright State (20-11), which has advanced to play second-seeded Detroit in Saturday's semifinal round. Reggie Arceneaux rounded out the balanced effort with 11 points.
For YSU (17-15), Kamren Belin scored a game-high 20 points, while Damian Eargle and Kendrick Perry netted 13 and 11 points, respectively. Eargle also tallied eight rebounds and two blocks for the Penguins.
Wright State got out to a 33-19 lead at intermission by shooting just shy of 46 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, while YSU made good on just 29.6 percent of its field goal attempts.
The Penguins climbed back to make it just a three-point game with under four minutes to play, but they would get no closer. The Raiders held YSU scoreless for the final 2:44 of the contest.
Wright State came out victorious despite getting outscored in the paint, 32-24, and outrebounded, 33-31.
