WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA9) --- A WUSA 9 viewer has come to the rescue of a single mother of three who is facing eviction after a DC firetruck backed into the food truck she uses to provide her family's income, putting it out of service.

The viewer, who wants her identity kept private, is offering to pay some rent for Nefisa Siraj, the mother who has been unable to pay her bills since the accident in September. Siraj was informed of the gift Thursday night.

"Whoever wants to help me, just tell them for me: Thank you, thank you, thank you. God will help them, too; that like them helping me, God will help them, too. They look out for me. God is going to look out for them," she told WUSA 9 after receiving the news.

A police report indicates Siraj's food truck was parked when it was struck by the DC fire truck. The city has not paid for the damages, and Siraj does not have the money to make necessary repairs.

DC Fire and EMS Chief Kenneth Ellerbe told WUSA 9 he is personally looking into the matter and may have more on the city's response on Friday.
