WALDORF, MD (WUSA9) -- UPDATE: The propane truck is reportedly now on its wheels. Officials say it will be removed from the scene in time for school buses to pass through.

A truck carrying a reported 2,000 pounds of propane overturned on Bensville Road near Carrie Court in Waldorf, Md. Thursday.

A Charles County government official says the 911 call came in at about 9:37 a.m. Thursday.

When rescue units first arrived on the scene they discovered an active leak from the tank but subsequently managed to contain it.

Fire Department personnel knocked on doors suggesting people who lived within a half mile radius of the crash evacuate for precautionary reasons.

No injuries have been reported.

Fire, Sheriff and hazardous materials units are reportedly working on the scene of the accident.
