ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- A dump truck spreading salt on I-270 Southbound hit the bridge at Muddy Branch Road.
Maryland State Police from the Rockville Barracks reported that at about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the truck hit the bridge while spreading salt along I-270.
The truck was driven by a private contractor who forgot to lower the bed of the truck before passing underneath the bridge.
The truck bed hit the underside of the bridge, causing unspecified damage and knocking down a highway sign that was attached to the bridge.
As of approximately 9:45 p.m., State Police said the truck was still stuck under the bridge, but that the driver of the truck was not hurt.
