BOWIE, Md. (WUSA) -- A 40-year-old woman crashed into a house in the10800 block of Maiden Drive on Tuesday afternoon, says Prince George's County Fire Spokesperson Mark Brady.

According to Brady, the woman was driving down a hill when for unknown reasons her car sped up and smashed into the house. The driver was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injures.

The car is wedged so far into the home that firefighters do not want to touch the vehicle in fear of causing more damage. Officials will let the homeowners insurance decide how they want to proceed, Brady said.

No one was at the house at the time of the crash, according to Brady.

This is the second car into house incident on Tuesday. This morning a truck crashed through the front door of a home in Woodbridge, Va.
