As I write this early on Wednesday morning, the prospects for snow from the coming storm look quite low. After a dry morning commute, we'll see a batch of rain and highs in the 40s for the afternoon. With "warm" surfaces, even if/when we do switch to some snow after dark, it will have a tough time sticking. Temperatures tonight will also be rather mild with lows only getting below freezing in a few spots north and west of DC late tonight.

As you can see from the model output from late last night, the snowfall output is piddly!

In the mountains, Winter Weather Advisories go into effect at Noon. 2"-4" is possible there with locally 5" at the higher elevations.

A Winter Weather Advisory is also in effect around Philadelphia and on Long Island for tonight as several inches of snow will be possible in those areas.

Once again for DC, the winter fails to deliver a meaningful, or even not so meaningful snow.
