WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A tree came down on the roof of a Metro Bus as it was waiting at a traffic light on Monday night, officials said.

Metro spokesperson Dan Stessel says the incident took place at about 7 p.m. in the intersection of 16th and Spring St. in Northwest D.C.

The tree landed on the rear of the bus and initially blocked traffic on both north and south bound lanes on 16th street.

The bus was occupied by 30 passengers but no one was injured.
