Macomb, IL (Sports Network) - Ceola Clark scored 13 points for the Western Illinois Leathernecks as they earned a, 50-42, win over the North Dakota State Bison in a Summit League clash at the Western Hall.
Clark was 4-of-7 from the field for the Leathernecks (15-4, 7-1 Summit), who bounced back well after a loss to South Dakota State that ended their 11-game win streak. Remy Roberts-Burnett added 11 points in the low-scoring affair.
Mike Felt was the only North Dakota State (16-5, 7-1) player in double-figure scoring with 10 points, as the Bison saw their eight-game win streak come to a close. Marshall Bjorklund was the second highest scorer on the squad with nine points.
The Bison led 20-13 at halftime after limiting the Leathernecks to just 20.0 percent shooting from the field in the opening stanza.
In the second half, Western Illinois overcame the deficit by outscoring NDSU, 37-22, thanks to its red-hot 64.3 percent shooting from the floor. The Bison were unable to keep up as they went 2-of-10 from beyond the arc over the final 20 minutes.
The Leathernecks scored 10 points off 11 Bison turnovers to hand NDSU its first setback in league action. Both sides now are tied for first in the conference standings with identical 7-1 Summit League records.
