FAIRVIEW, Va. (WUSA) -- A firefighter was injured and four people are without a home after a fire broke out at a townhouse in Fairfax County on Thursday.

At approximately 1:10 p.m., firefighters responded to a home in the 5400 block of Cheshire Meadows Way. They saw smoke and fire coming from the basement and started an aggressive fire attack. They were able to bring the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes.

No one was home when the fire broke out and the fire did not spread to the other townhouses.

Three adults and one child were displaced.

One firefighter received a non-life threatening injury.

Fire officials say the damage is estimated at $180,000.

The fire is under investigation.
