WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Heloise was in town this weekend for the Home and Garden Show at the Dulles Expo Center but took time out to gives us tips on how to survive the Inauguration if we're going to join the crowd. She says the key is preparation.

Two big concerns will be keeping warm all day during the chilly weather and avoiding germs. Heloise recommends hand and foot warmers, bringing small snacks, hand wipes and lip balm. She says wear bright colors so that your friends and family can find you. If there is any rain she says instead of buying a plastic poncho you can buy a large plastic trash bag and cut a hole in it to wear.

See her advice above.
