Ogden, UT (Sports Network) - Led by a game-high 23 points from Kyle Tresnak, the Weber State Wildcats cut down the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, 83-70, in a Big Sky Conference bout at the Dee Events Center.
For the Wildcats (12-3, 7-0 Big Sky), Davion Berry finished with 17 points and Joel Bolomboy posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Bolomboy also blocked five shots for Weber State, which has won eight straight games.
Max Jacobsen paced NAU (5-12, 2-5) with 18 points and seven rebounds. DeWayne Russell netted 15 points, Stallon Saldivar added 12 points and five assists, and Gabe Rogers had 11 points.
Weber State shot 44.8 percent from the field in the first half, including 4- of-7 from 3-point range, as it took a 38-31 lead at the break. NAU knocked down 53.8 percent of its field goal attempts in the frame but went without a long-range bucket.
The Wildcats improved their field goal efficiency to 54.5 percent after intermission, and the Lumberjacks never got closer than seven points of the lead in the second half
The Wildcats were lights out from the free-throw line, making 29-of-33. NAU shot just 8-of-15 from the stripe.
