Niagara, NY (Sports Network) - Antoine Mason scored a game-high 23 points, leading five in double figures, as the Niagara Purple Eagles posted a resounding 87-64 win over the Siena Saints in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference bout at the Gallagher Center.
Juan'ya Green stepped up with 21 points, eight assists and three steals for the Purple Eagles (10-8, 6-1 MAAC) as they posted a third straight win and the fifth in the last six outings. T.J. Cline contributed 13 points, while Ameen Tanksley and Marvin Jordan chipped in 10 points apiece.
The Saints (4-14, 2-5) were led by O.D. Anosike who registered yet another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but his night was cut short when he was ejected with 7:50 still remaining in the second half. Brett Bisping and Imoh Silas tacked on 11 points each and Rakeem Brookins 10, although the latter shot just 2-of-11 from the floor.
Siena led until midway through the first half and from there the Purple Eagles pretty much had their way as the hosts shot 53.3 percent from the floor, including 8-of-13 behind the 3-point line in the period, en route to a 40-34 advantage at the break.
In the second half Niagara simply pulled away on the strength of 55.2 percent accuracy from the field.
The loss of Anosike, combined with 18 turnovers, prevented Siena from being competitive down the stretch.
