(WUSA) -- British artist Paul Emsley's portrait of Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge was unveiled at the National Portrait Gallery in central London on Friday. It is the first official portrait of the Duchess and was completed after two sittings at the artist's studio and Kensington Palace.

The Duchess and Prince William visited the gallery on Friday and spoke to the artist. Emsley said it was an honor to be able to paint the duchess.

On social media, people haven't missed the opportunity to voice their opinions and use some humor. Many people have said that the portrait does not capture Kate's beauty and some have even gone so far as to propose someone "fix" (or trash) the existing one.

A parody Twitter account for Prince Charles (@Charles_HRH) wrote the following:"Ordered a portrait of Kate for her 31st birthday. Have decided to keep it until her 50th. Awkward."

Which was followed by this update:

Camilla's given Kate Middleton's portrait a slight touch up. Big improvement.

The duchess, however, is said to be "delighted" with the portrait.

What do you think about it?
