GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA) -- Two children and two adults were struck by a vehicle in Anne Arundel County on Thursday evening, police said. We are told that a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman remain at Shock Trauma. Another 16-year-old and 20-year-old male were released Thursday night.
The incident happened at Quarterfield Road at the entrance ramp for Route 100 East at around 5:33 p.m., police said.
"Officers learned four pedestrians, preliminarily believed to be two adult and two juveniles, were crossing Quarterfield Road, at or near the ramp, when they were struck by a vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene for first-responders," police said in a news release Thursday.
Police say the pedestrians appear not to have crossed the road at a crosswalk or with streetlights. Police say "pedestrian error" is a possible contributing factor in the crash.
