WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Thursday morning the bill for the new Chuck Brown Memorial passed and was signed by DC Mayor Vincent Gray at the John A. Wilson Building.
The legislation honors one of the city's most beloved musicians. The godfather of go-go died last May at age 75.
The design of the memorial, which will be built at Langdon Park, was unveiled on Thursday at the bill signing. Family members of Chuck Brown were in attendance.
Marshall Moya Design, the design studio that also restored the inside of Hoard Theatre where Chuck Brown performed many concerts, designed the memorial.
