Jonesboro, AR (Sports Network) - Brandon Peterson scored a team-high 15 points as the Arkansas State Red Wolves defeated the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in overtime, 66-60, in Sun Belt action at the Convocation Center.
Peterson was one rebound shy of a double-double for the Red Wolves (9-5, 3-2 SBC). Marcus Hooten scored 14 points off the bench in Arkansas State's third straight win.
For the Blue Raiders (11-4, 3-1), Marcos Knight scored a game-high 23 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double. Tweety Knight recorded 12 points and six boards off the bench.
Both teams struggled shooting in the first half, but an Arkansas State 9-0 run in the middle of the first half, allowed a 26-25 advantage at the break.
Both teams continued to struggle shooting but a 3-pointer by Knight with one second remaining in the game, forced overtime.
Arkansas State was 4-of-5 from the floor while holding the Blue Raiders to a mere 2-of-5, en route to a 14-8 advantage in overtime that secured the win.
The Red Wolves went 21-of-54 from the floor while holding the Blue Raiders to only 19-of-59 on their field goal attempts.
