MONROVIA, Md. (WUSA/AP) -- Providence United Methodist Church got its first steeple on Thursday at its location in Monrovia. The church has been at the same building for 140 years.
The congregation has been planning the structure for 15 years. According to reports, the steeple costs about $17,000.
According to The News-Post of Frederick (http://bit.ly/RqT7Wm) the steeple has a 5-foot-square base, is 19 feet tall, and has a 3-foot-by-2-foot cross at the top.
