Norfolk, VA (Sports Network) - Rayshawn Goins scored 16 points to lead the James Madison Dukes over the Old Dominion Monarchs, 58-55, in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Constant Convocation Center.
Goins also pulled down nine rebounds and rejected three shots for James Madison (7-6, 1-0 CAA), which has now won four games in a row. Ron Curry contributed 13 points and four assists in the win with Alioune Diouf adding nine points and five rebounds.
DeShawn Painter registered a double-double, with 14 points and 13 rebounds, for Old Dominion (2-12, 0-2), which has now lost 11 of its last 12 games. Dimitri Batten tallied 12 points coming off the bench.
Despite shooting just 28.6 percent from the field in the first half, JMU took a 25-24 lead into the break by recording 11 points off turnovers.
The Dukes outscored Old Dominion 33-31 in the second half, shooting 50.0 percent from the field, to hold on for their victory.
The Monarchs turned the ball over 15 times which led to 17 points for James Madison.
