HAGERSTOWN, Md. (WUSA) Snow struck the region Saturday prompting travel advisories in central and western Maryland as highway crews quickly cleared roads.

Skiers and snowboarders celebrated the snowfall by flocking to regional resorts. Liberty and Roundtop opened for skiing and snowboarding Saturday. Whitetail Resort opened Friday.

The storm dropped 1 to 4 inches of snow along the Interstate 70 corridor from Howard County Maryland out to western Maryland.
