Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Lateef McMullan scored a game-high 20 points in order to lead the Portland State Vikings to a 63-49 win over the Idaho State Bengals in Big Sky Conference action at the Stott Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Vikings (3-5, 1-0 Big Sky) were Michael Harthun and Renado Parker with 13 and 10 points, respectively, as the team won for the second time in as many games.
The Bengals (1-8, 0-1) were paced by Melvin Morgan who dropped in 17 points, but he shot just 1-of-7 behind the 3-point line and was charged with six turnovers in the team's third consecutive setback.
Both teams shot the ball well from the floor in the first half, each hitting at least 50 percent of their opportunities, which is why they ended up tied at the break, 28-28.
In the second half PSU pulled away on the strength of 52.0 percent accuracy from the field and 6-of-8 at the free-throw line in the double-digit triumph.
In a game that featured eight ties and 13 lead changes, ISU didn't do itself any favors by shooting only 3-of-9 at the charity stripe and 2-of-13 out on the perimeter.
