LISBON, Md. (WUSA) - Under a sparkling December sky, hundreds of horses, donkeys, ponies and mules clopped down the streets in style for the Second Annual Ol' Fashioned Christmas Horse Parade in Lisbon, Md. last Saturday.
Ridden and driven, with classic carriages and carts, rustic wagons and stagecoaches, the equine participants made a festive picture for the crowds lining the parade route. Santa himself made a special appearance at the parade, which is also a fundraiser and food drive for the Food Banks of Howard and Carroll Counties.
Parade goers contributed canned and dry goods, adding to the spirit of giving during the holiday season (Photos courtesy of Katherine O. Rizzo/The Equiery).
