FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WUSA) -- Fairfax County police say they have charged a man with abduction in connection with an assault at the Thomas Jefferson Library from last month.

Thirty-one-year-old Kevin Lee Porter was arrested on the job on Tuesday afternoon in the 3000 block of Gatehouse Plaza. He is being held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Porter is accused of assaulting a 17-year-old girl in the bathroom of the library located on Arlington Boulevard on November 6. Police say the incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. The teen reported that a man who had been watching her study throughout the day was following her. She told police she tried to escape him by ducking into the bathroom as she left the building, but he followed her into the restroom. She demanded that he leave but then he touched and pushed her. The teen kicked him and screamed. Then her attacker fled.

Library staff called police, telling officers the man had been in the library several times but that they didn't know about any previous incidents or assaults.
