WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) - We asked House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer the two questions we've been all of our representatives and Senators in light of the fiscal cliff negations. Number one...
"Are you willing to give up part or all or your salary until a decision is made?"
And number two:
"Are you willing to work vacation-free and recess-free until a decision is made?"
Speaker John Beoner and President Obama have exchanged new offers in their private talks. The White House has offered to lower its request for new tax revenue .
Obama says he won't sign a deal without letting the Bush era tax cuts for the wealthy expire. But GOP leaders want the President to identify spending cuts. Congressman Hoyer says if Republicans want spending cuts, they should propose them themselves.
Hoyer is says further cuts to federal employees pay and benefits should not be part of the negotiation.
