Hyattsville, Md. (WUSA)-- A Hyattsville family is still dealing with the pain of a loved one's sudden death.
Carlotta Sharps died October 23rd after a complicated birth. She left behind two young daughters, and her new born baby boy.
Now, her best friend Angela Mcleod has stepped into the role of mother to Sharps' three children. She's fulfilling a promise she made to her lifelong friend.
However, now she is coming across many hardships and is worried that the children won't have a Christmas celebration. Mcleod has fallen on hard times. She is unemployed, and with mounting bills and expenses, she isn't sure she will be able to afford the holidays.
Her concerns have left her scrambling to come up with a way to make ends meet before the entire family is dealt another heartbreak.
Sharps said , "I'm just trying to get the girls...let them have a nice Christmas."
Currently their house has no signs of the celebration because they can't afford a tree or decorations.
