WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- You may have to wait on that next shipment to buy a Nintendo Wii U console at a store near you.

The new touch screen controller has been flying off of store shelves.

The company says it sold more than 400,000 of the home video gamers in its first week.

It's comparable to the original Wii when it was first released six years ago.
