FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) -- A man spotted littering in a Frederick, Md. park was arrested and charged after officers found marijuana, crack cocaine and other drugs, say police. Some of those drugs were hidden in baggies and gum packages, according to police.

Police say at approximately 10:29 p.m. on Tuesday, the Direct Patrol Unit were in Carroll Creek Linear Park watching a group of people after receiving complaints of loitering, alcohol use, and drugs there. One man moved away from the group near the Carroll Creek suspension bridge, turned around and flicked a cigarette onto the grass, say police. The man, identified as Arthur Eugene Lancaster, was thenplaced under arrest for littering.

During a search of Lancaster "incident to arrest", police say they found the following items:

  • a prescription bottle containing 8 baggies of suspected marijuana
  • an Altoids mint container with suspected synthetic cannabinoid
  • a package of Mr. Nice Guy, containing suspected Synthetic cannabinoid

At the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, police say they also found these items on Lancaster:

  • 6 individually packaged baggies of crack cocaine within a prescription bottle
  • a gum package were 7 pills of Acetaminophen/Oxycodone hydrochloride (Lancaster did not have a prescription for the drugs,say police).

Lancaster is now charged with:

  • Littering
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
  • Possession of Paraphernalia X2
  • Possession of Crack Cocaine
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
  • Possession of Contraband in place of confinement
  • Possession of Acetaminophen and Oxycodone Hydrochloride
  • Possession Synthetic Cannabinoid/Synthetic Cannabinoid Analog/ Synthetic Cathinone X2
