LOTHIAN, Md. (WUSA) -- A 55-year-old man is charged with attempted first degree murder and other charges after a stabbing in Lothian on Saturday.

The stabbing happened shortly before 5 a.m.in the 5400 block of Sands Road in Lothian. An acquaintance drove the 50-year-old male victim to the AAA Ambulance Service for help, where officers responded to the scene.

The victim suffered from stab wounds to his upper body. Prince George's Trauma Center for treatment of his injuries, which did not appear to be life threatening, said authorities.

The victim and the suspect, Jerome Otto Waters Sr., knew each other and were involved in a disagreement before the stabbing, say authorities. Waters was identified as the suspect by several witnesses and found at his home a few hours later.

Waters was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.
