(WUSA) -- Pierce Coffee with Transurban talked to Monika Samtani on Monday morning about the access points to the 495 Express Lanes.

The Express Lanes opened to the public on Saturday, making Monday the first time they were open for the morning rush hour. Some drivers have been confused about the access points and there have been multiple crashes at the northbound entrance. Virginia State Police Sgt. Kerry Allandar spoke to Monika Samtani about those crashes.

The lanes run from the Springfield interchange to north of the Dulles Toll Road. Drivers use an E-Z Pass to use the lanes. If they have three or more people in the vehicle, they can ride for free with a Flex transponder. Otherwise, the average toll will be between $3 and $6.
