BALTIMORE (WUSA) - Baltimore Gas and Electric Company says it deployed 12 employees and vehicles early Monday to assist New Jersey Gas with recovery efforts.

The natural gas mechanics and technicians will aid for a week or longer to help restore gas to customers left with service and heat after Superstorm Sandy. BGE deployed 64 overhead linemen and support personnel along with 36 vehicles over the weekend to assist with power restorations near Philadelphia.

BGE says it restored power to 1.2 million customers in central Maryland after Superstorm Sandy.
