SILVER SPRING, Md., (WUSA) -- If you recently bought a 16 ounce bag of Bolthouse Farms Carrot Chips, you'll want to return them to your grocery store.

They are being recalled because they are possibly contaminated with Salmonella, an organism that can cause serious foodborne illness.

The chopped carrot chips have a best by date of November 12 and November 13, 2012.

The product's UPC Code is 71464-17209.
