ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA) -- Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen announced that the city will activate a Call Center on Sunday and urges residents of low-lying areas to have an evacuation plan.
The city released a press release with the information on Saturday stating that gusty winds and heavy rains with the potential of severe flooding is expected.
The release stated the Annapolis will begin to feel the effects of Sandy late Sunday, according to forecasters.
The city suggests residents be ready to evacuate if:
- You live in a low-lying area
- You live in a flood prone area
- You live on the coastline or near a river
"If you choose to evacuate, leave as early as possible. Stay with friends or relatives that live out of flood zones, or go to a public shelter," the released said.
