WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) - Across the region, we found a lot of people out buying generators on Thursday, a clear sign of concern that the power utilities may be unable to keep the lights on if and when this possible super storm hits.

The message at PEPCO headquarters was preparedness for customers, to check batteries and get to the store. One of the region's other big utilities BGE said it is preparing for quote "several hundred of thousands" of customers who may be affected. BGE officials are already cautioning preparedness..
