PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (WUSA)- A jury has found one officer not guilty, the other guilty of second degree assault in the beating trial of a University of Maryland student.

The jury found officer Reginald Baker not guilty of any charge and officer James Harrison found guilty of 2nd degree assault and not guilty on misconduct in the caught-on-tape beating of University of Maryland student John McKenna after a 2010 basketball victory over Duke.

Deliberations began at 3 p.m. Friday after a week-long trial and the jury delivered the verdict shortly before 10 p.m.

Harrison could face up to 10 years in prison.

Both officers are still classified as suspended with pay.

McKenna addressed the media after the verdict, saying "I'm glad some justice was done. it's been a long two years for me and my family....we hope the Dept. of Justice continues with the investigation."
