WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The body of an adult male was recovered from the Anacostia River, D.C. police said.
On Wednesday at about 1:20 p.m. the U.S. Park Police were notified of the floating body near the 11th Street Bridge. Park Police then requested D.C. Police to assist.
The body was pulled from the river near Good Hope Road by the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail. Officials say the body showed signs of being in the water for quite some time. The medical examiners will determine the cause of death.
