TAUNTON, Mass. (USA TODAY) -- A white female poodle that was hit by a Toyota sedanon a Massachusetts highway went on a wild 11-mile ride inside the car'sgrill until a passing motorist pointed out the "passenger" to theunwitting driver, the Taunton Daily Gazette reports.

The East Providence Animal Control Center in Rhode Island is now looking for the dog's owner.

WilliamMuggle, the center's animal control supervisor, tells the newspaperthat the car was traveling about 50 mph near Taunton, Mass., two weeksago when the dog ran into the road.

The driver says he hit the brakes, but didn't see the dog anywhere and drove on.

It was until the driver stopped at a light in East Providence that another driver spotted the poodle and alerted him.

Muggle tells The Gazettethat the dog suffered a concussion and possibly a minor rupture of thebladder, which has healed, but is "actually doing fine, crazy enough."
