WASHINGTON (JCHAYWARD.COM) - Wildfire Restaurant Chef, Eddie Ishaq, visited JC Hayward on Tuesday to prepare a delicious Monte Cristo Sandwich with ham, turkey and Swiss cheese, breakfast potatoes, and onions on French Toast.

"This sandwich is the best of both breakfast and lunch," says Chef Ishaq.

What is the secret to making French toast? Chef Ishaq says half and half sugar, egg yolks, and a sprinkle of vanilla.

The restaurant, which opened in 2007, has updated its brunch menu with new dishes including the fresh berries and yogurt parfait (my favorite), the turkey sausage breakfast burrito, Cinnamon Toast Crunch French toast, and eggs Florentine.

Wildfire Restaurant is located on the 3rd floor at Tyson's Galleria in McLean, VA.

1 oz. Clarified butter
2 slices 3/4 " thick challah bread (dipped in French toast batter)
2 slices Swiss Cheese- 1 on each side
2 oz. Sliced Ham
2 oz. Sliced Turkey
Bake on hot skillet, open faced, butter side down in wood burning oven or on a stove for three minutes.
Flip and add the cheese and meats.
Bake until cheese and meats are hot.
Close sandwich and bake an additional minute on each side until golden brown.
Slice sandwich diagonally
1 dusting of Powdered Sugar
1 small ramekin of Maple Syrup
