SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WUSA) -- A father shot his son after an argument became violent on Saturday, Spotsylvania County Sheriff's officials said.
It happened at the 8600 block of Laroque Run Drive at around 8:00 p.m., officials said.
Daniel Roh, 49, of Spotsylvania County, was arguing with his son Danen Roh, 30, when Daniel asked his son to leave, officials said.
"... He complied but stated he was going to get a gun and return to the residence and kill them. At approximately 7:45 p.m. Danen returned while his parents were upstairs. Daniel confronted Danen from the top of the steps ordering him to leave the residence. When Danen refused to leave Daniel fired one round striking Danen in the left shoulder," Sheriff's officials said in a news release.
When deputies arrived, they found Daniel administering first aid to his son's wound. Officials said Danen was not armed when his father fired the shot at him. Daniel Roh told deputies he shot his son after "fearing for his life."
"At the recommendation of an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Daniel Roh was charged with Malicious Wounding and held in jail under no bond. This investigation is continuing," officials said.
Danen Roh was taken to the hospital for treatment of his wounds, he was in stable condition.
