WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- There appears to be a connection between the Arlington jewelry store robbery and a similar incident that took place earlier this month, police say.

On June 9, Benson's Jewelers in the 1300 block of F Street NW, was robbed. On July 27, Tommy Wong was killed during a robbery at Capital Jewelers in Arlington.

Ken Stein, the owner of Benson's Jewelers, says the man in the surveillance pictures from the Arlington robbery looks almost exactly like the man who put a gun in his face seven weeks ago.

Stein says if, indeed, the two men are the same, he's extremely lucky to be alive.

According to Stein, the man who robbed him hardly spoke at all before taking off with about a dozen rings worth a total of about $22,000.

DC and Arlington police are now working together due to the similarities in the cases.

The suspect wearing a yellow vest in the attached photos is still at large. If you have any information about either robbery, police ask that you please call local law enforcement.
