WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Police have released the sketch of a man wanted in a sexual assault that took place on the Capitol Crescent Trail earlier this week.

The United States Park Police, Criminal Investigation Branch, are investigating the assault that took place on July 26 at approximately 9:16 p.m.

Police say the victim was jogging north on the trail near Three Sisters in Northwest D.C. when the suspect approached her from behind, placing the victim in a choke hold. She lost consciousness and awoke with her pants down and the suspect fondling her. The suspect fled the scene when the victim began to scream.

He was last scene fleeing on foot towards Fletcher's Boat House wearing a white shirt (tank top or cut off sleeves) and long jersey shorts.

The suspect is described as a black male, medium skin tone, 5'8" to 5'11", about 180 to 200 pounds, muscular/fit build, and has dreads - 3 to 4 inches long.
