WASHINGTON (WUSA) - Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, even on Metro this weekend, as area temps soar into triple digits.

Customers are allowed to bring water on the metro through Sunday, July 8, due to extreme temperatures in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

The exception to Metro's "no drinking" policy only applies to water in stations and aboard trains, buses, and MetroAccess vehicles. Metro riders are encouraged to bring their water in containers that can be tightly secured.
