WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The Honda Motor Company is recalling about 50,000 Civic small sedans.

The Japanese automaker says the 2012 model has a driveshaft assembly problem that could lead to a loss of engine power.

Honda says it has not received any reports of injuries or crashes.

The car company will mail owners a letter about free repairs in late June.
