WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC Public Schools officials are apologizing after some parents couldn't get into the rain location for the Ballou High School graduation ceremony on Tuesday.
WUSA 9 received a call from a parent Tuesday evening who said he or she couldn't get into the graduation ceremony at the Temple Of Praise Church.
The following statement was sent to us via email in response:
"Today's graduation ceremony for Ballou High School was moved to an alternate location due to the uncertain weather. The alternate location should have been sufficient to fit all the graduates, their families and guests. The overflow room at the Church was used as a holding site for the graduates. Guests who were unable to be accommodated in the church were asked to wait outside until the graduates began their procession and the overflow room was available. We deeply regret any confusion or disruption to the graduation which should be a joyous and celebratory occasion. Once the ceremony began, any remaining attendees were escorted into the overflow room and the ceremony continued as scheduled. We are immensely proud of all DCPS graduates and apologetic for any frustration that was felt."
