WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Washington Animal Rescue League has a new pet of the week: Buster.

WARL writes:

"Don't tell Buster he's disabled. This 13-month-old Dachshund mix may no longer have the use of his hind legs, but that doesn't stop him from 'running with the big dogs.'

At the age of 6 months, Buster was rescued by a good Samaritan after being hit by a car. Although the accident left him partially paralyzed, this darling dog gets around wonderfully thanks to a special set of custom wheels.

Buster is an exuberant, happy little boy who loves life! He enjoys meeting new people, playing fetch, and socializing with other dogs. Now he just needs a caring person willing to handle his special medical needs. In return, he'll give you a lifetime of love and devotion.

You can show your support for Buster-and help the Washington Animal Rescue League win $50K-by voting for him in an online canine competition June 14 - 17 at bestinshelter.org."
