BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA) -- Friday is annual Bike To Work Day. You're encouraged to ditch the car and take your bike to work or school.
Last year, one-third of people who took part were first-time bike commuters.That's why there are 59 pit stop set up across the area to grab a drink and win prizes.

Bike To Work Day promotes the enviromental as well as the physical benefits of riding a bike. AAA alsoestimates the average sedan owner could save nearly $9,000 by biking to work rather than driving.
